Application for Educational Benefits

Mounds View Public Schools participate in the Minnesota Free School Meals Program. All students are offered one breakfast and one lunch meal at no cost each day at school. Although no application is required to receive this meal benefit, filling out the Application for Educational Benefits is still important, as your student may qualify for other benefits like reduced fees at school. Your application may also help the school qualify for education funds, discounts, and other meal programs.

If you have questions about Educational Benefits, please email Nutrition Services at nutritionservices@mvpschools.org or call 651-621-6025.

The 2024-2025 school year application will open July 17, 2024
Households need to apply for Educational Benefits each school year.

Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer program (Summer EBT)

Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer program (Summer EBT) will officially start summer 2024.

Summer EBT is a federal program that provides grocery-buying-benefits to income eligible families with school-age children. This new program aims to boost kids’ access to nutritious food during the summer break.   Families who qualify will receive a one time yearly benefit of $120 per eligible child on a pre-loaded electronic benefit transfer (EBT) card. This card can then be used to purchase groceries.

Who may qualify?

Families with school-age children who qualify for Educational Benefits (formerly called free-reduced price meals) are eligible to receive Summer EBT.
How to apply? Your student will need to qualify for Educational Benefits to receive this benefit. If your student has not qualified for Educational Benefits, click here to fill out an application.
