The School Board adopts policies that provide general principles for guiding the management of the School District. The administration develops regulations that specifically support the School Board's policies. Policies can only be adopted by the School Board, while regulations do not require School Board approval to be implemented.
The School Board and Superintendent operate in a working partnership and engage in ongoing professional appraisal, development and feedback.
Every employee shares responsibility to some degree in the success of the Mounds View Public Schools.
It is the responsibility of the School Board to decide what is provided to whom and at what cost. The School Board is responsible for sound fiscal management of its resources.
The Superintendent is the only employee directly accountable to the School Board.
The School Board, supporting the work of staff, the welfare of students and the interest of the community, holds itself accountable to the citizens of the Mounds View Public Schools by ensuring that all action it takes is consistent with the School Board’s policies and beliefs.
In the fulfillment of this charge, the School Board is committed to rigorous, continual improvement of its capacity to govern effectively through policy by defining its concerns in terms of values and its vision in terms of expectations.
